Tri Clover Expansion Ferrules Explained

Expansion ferrules are most common in the dairy industry and often found in milking sheds. An expansion ferrule can be identified by the ridges on the inside of the ferrule. It also slips over the dairy tube rather than butt welding to it like a normal ferrule. This means, providing your welding skills are good enough, it only takes one single weld without the need of gas and purging to create a hygienic connection.
Overseas, expansion ferrules are sometimes pressed onto tubes with a special machine, but this isn’t done in New Zealand.
We stock expansion ferrules from 1” to 4” in either a short option or a long option.
